Health Care Professionals
Any individual or hospital, clinic, hospice, support group or medical association may license the following easy-to-lead courses:
Writing for Health Care Professionals is a four-week professional and personal development course (two hours each session) for professional caregivers, i.e., doctors, nurses, social workers, psychotherapists, chaplains, administrators, and other providers who deliver patient care. This is an educational and therapeutic way to earn CEUs. The course objectives are to:
- become skilled at diffusing anxiety
about stressful life events
- gain insights into your relationships with staff and patients
- experience heightened awareness of joys on the job
- become confident in writing for all purposes, including scholarly
writing in professional journals
- understand how expressive writing can help your patients with emotional
healing
Writing About Cancer is a four-week course (two hours each session) to help people with cancer--whether in treatment, in remission, or living with cancer--acknowledge and resolve emotional issues that typically accompany a diagnosis of cancer.
Writing for Personal Caregivers is a four-week course (two hours each session) to help people who care for an adult loved one with a debilitating condition deal with the emotional issues that arise in this demanding role.
Each program is packaged with an easy-to-follow Facilitator's Guide. Instructions are spelled out so anyone--nurse, administrator, social worker, staff development officer, etc.--can lead the sessions.
In addition to the Facilitator's Guide, which arrives as a Word email attachment, you receive handouts and/or links to handouts for each session plus a course survey for participants to complete so you get feedback about the effectiveness of the program.
